🍽 KEY INGREDIENTS
- Chocolate instant pudding mix – Use your favorite brand of pudding mix. Vanilla instant pudding mix or cheesecake pudding mix can be used instead.
- Cold milk – Full fat is best, but you can use reduced-fat milk instead.
- Cool Whip – Thawed. Another store-brand whipped topping would also work.
- Mini marshmallows – Regular marshmallows can also be used and cut down in size.
- Oreos – You’ll need a package that holds 36 cookies.
- Semisweet chocolate chips – Milk chocolate chips or dark chocolate chips can be used.
Swaps
Low-fat – Use light or low-fat Cool Whip or make your own whipped topping for this dessert if you want to control the fat content better.
Healthier – Sugar-free or fat-free instant pudding mix can be used.
Flavor – Create a different flavor to this dessert by using a vanilla instant pudding mix or Cheesecake pudding mix, Golden Oreos, and white chocolate chips.
Add-ins – Add more texture by including halved fresh cherries (or even maraschino cherries for extra sweetness!).
Cookies – Golden Oreos could be used instead of regular Oreos. If you don’t enjoy Oreos, feel free to use another type of cookie instead.
🥣 EQUIPMENT
You’ll need a Zip top bag and rolling pin (or a food processor instead), large mixing bowl, rubber spatula, electric mixer, whisk, and measuring cups.
🔪 HOW TO MAKE
This no-bake Oreo fluff salad is one of the easiest treats to whip up! You only need 6 ingredients and 10 minutes of preparation. Follow these simple step-by-step instructions for a fail-proof dessert.
Preparations
Thaw the Cool Whip for easy mixing and gather the rest of the ingredients needed.
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Add the Oreos to a Zip to bag, seal the bag, and crush them into smaller pieces using a rolling pin. You can also use a knife to chop the Oreos into smaller pieces or use a food processor. Set two cups of the rushed Oreos aside to be used as a topping later.
Step 2
Combine the chocolate instant pudding mix with cold milk in a large mixing bowl and whisk until thickened.
Step 3
Fold in the whipped cream until fully incorporated into the pudding.
Step 4
Add the mini marshmallows, crushed Oreos, and semisweet chocolate chips. Fold the ingredients into the pudding mixture. Cover the mixture with plastic wrap and chill it in the fridge for 30 minutes to an hour. When ready to serve, top it with the remaining crushed Oreos and enjoy!
💭 COOKING TIPS
This Oreo fluff salad can be enjoyed in a bowl as is or you can serve it with some sweet crackers or wafers to dip into. You can also turn this treat into Dirt cups, topped with gummy worms and finely crushed Oreos.
It’s important to chill this dessert salad before serving it as this allows all of the flavors to blend together and for the fluffy salad to set. It’s normal and desired for the marshmallows to become softer and the creamy mixture to become thicker and creamier while chilling.
When making this dessert a day or two in advance, only fold in the crushed Oreo cookies about 30 minutes to an hour before serving the dessert to preserve some of the crunch.

🙋 FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Yes, but I recommend that you only mix in the crushed Oreo cookies about 30 minutes before serving them to your guests. You’ll want the cookies to soften slightly but not so much that they lose all crunch.
You can use low-fat milk and low-fat Cool Whip to mix with the instant pudding but keep in mind that this is likely to alter the taste and texture of the dessert, even if only slightly.
This Oreo fluff salad consists of crushed Oreos, Cool Whip, chocolate pudding mix, cold milk, mini marshmallows, and chocolate chips. Some recipes call for condensed milk and cream cheese instead of the instant pudding.
I recommend chilling this Oreo fluff salad for a minimum of 30 minutes, preferably for an hour. The chilling time helps to thicken the mixture, intensifies the flavors in the dessert, and softens the crushed Oreos so that they aren’t so crunchy.
🧊 STORING AND MORE
FRIDGE
Leftover Oreo fluff salad should be stored in an airtight container or the serving bowl, covered with plastic wrap, in the fridge for 3-4 days. It’s best to give the Oreo fluff salad a little mix before serving again, as the mixture can thicken in storage.
FREEZER
I don’t recommend freezing this dessert as the ingredients will definitely start to separate, and the texture of the dessert will be ruined.
If you’re looking for a way to make this Oreo fluff salad in advance, simply assemble the dessert 1-2 days ahead of serving, storing it in the fridge and only adding freshly crushed Oreos to the top of the dessert just before serving.

This recipe makes about 6-8 servings, depending on whether you serve your fluff salad in serving bowls or individual glasses. You can easily double the recipe when serving a larger crowd – simply make two bowls to chill in the fridge instead of one.
