Avocado Banana Smoothie
Avocado Banana Smoothie is a creamy, slightly sweet smoothie that is loaded with vitamins and minerals.
I have to confess that I’m not a big breakfast eater. I need to wake up and get my brain cells firing before I am able to even think about eating something. Okay, well maybe I need at least two cups of coffee before my brain starts to attempt to work. I started making smoothies for breakfast when I realized that I needed to get something in my stomach besides coffee but I didn’t want a heavy meal.
One of my favorite smoothies has always been an avocado banana smoothie because it can be so flexible. I mean it’s avocado you can never go wrong with the creamy texture, plus the sweet taste of a banana. I like to use fully ripe bananas for the best sweetness.
Avocados are loaded with mono-saturated fatty acids which are good for a healthy heart. Besides, avocados are rich in potassium, fiber, antioxidants and many vitamins like B, K, C and E. Not that you needed another reason to enjoy an avocado, but they’re good for you, too!
Frequently Asked Questions About Avocado Banana Smoothie
Can I make my smoothie ahead
You can make your smoothie ahead, but I would recommend still giving it a quick whirl in the blender before you drink it as it can separate. Personally, instead of making my smoothie ahead, I like to add all the ingredients into my blender cup, and then stick the cup in the fridge. That way when I wake up with one eye half cracked open and I’m looking to make my smoothie, I don’t have to use any brain cells. I just need to give it a quick whirl in the blender and it’s ready to go for the day.
Can I freeze my Avocado Banana smoothie for later?
One of the best things about this delicious smoothie is that it freezes amazingly. The best way to keep bananas and avocados from over ripening is to toss them in the freezer. I place them both in a freezer bag together in the freezer, and then I don’t even need to thaw them for my smoothie.
I can just toss the frozen avocado and the frozen banana into the blender with my milk, honey and oatmeal and give it a whirl. Personally, I don’t like to add the honey and oats to my bag when I am freezing then but you can if you want a just dump and go smoothie. If you love meal planning, then do this! Portion and freeze your bananas and avocados together.

What Can you Substitute if You’re Vegan?
There’s a few things that you can do. First, you can use almond milk, oat milk, or coconut milk in lieu of traditional dairy milk. I love almond milk, and really enjoy using it!
