When I think of Summer, I think of two things: going to the beach and eating lots of ice cream! I don’t get to go the beach very often, so most of the summer is spent on my front porch enjoying a delicious ice cream break from my world of work. I have some amazing new ice cream bar flavors to share with you from Klondike! Yes, we all know what Klondike bars. The theme song is stuck in everyone’s head! All of these Klondike Kandy Bars are available at your local Giant Eagle! I had one close by that had all of the flavors in stock!! Woohoo! I love my Giant Eagle.
Before I have I get started with my review of them, you must know this: they are extremely addictive and you will probably eat the whole of bars by yourself….in one sitting. What? Don’t judge me. I didn’t get this sexy body from not eating. Moving on…
Klondike Kandy bars come in 5 different flavors: Fudge Krunch, Cookie Dough Swirl, Caramel & Peanuts, Mint Fudge, and Cookies & Cream! The Fudge Krunch and Cookie Dough Swirl spoke to me the most, but I also picked up the Caramel and Peanuts and Mint Fudge for the rest of the family to try and talk about. So, you’ll be getting 3 different opinions. Fun!
Before I get started, have you seen this Amazing commercial for them??
As I stated, I wanted to try the Fudge Krunch and Cookie Dough Swirl, and here are my thoughts! To start off with, both products have a really nice thick chocolately shell around them. I love it! I get an amazing amount of chocolate to crunch right into. I was in total chocolate deliciousness heaven. I ate two of each of the Kandy Bars without any type of remorse. The Fudge Krunch bar has this delicious strip of a rich chocolate fudge that is centered right down the middle of it. So, when you bite into it…you get this rich fudge taste in each and every bite! The Cookie Dough Swirl was the same experience. The Kandy bar isn’t overly saturated with globs of cookie dough and no ice cream. The ratio was just perfect!
Jennifer tried the Mint Fudge Cookie. Here are her thoughts: the way that I feel right now should not be legal. The mint flavor is there, but it’s not overwhelming. It’s like I’m eating my favorite Girl Scout cookies…but in an ice cream Kandy Bar…and I’m not sharing any of it with you.
Stephen tried the Caramel and Peanuts, and here are his thoughts:
This is so much better than taking a traditional candy bar and putting it in the fridge or freezer to harden before eating. There’s a super yummy caramel layer that I can’t get enough of. I like the concept of the peanuts being chopped up and placed into the chocolate shell around the Kandy bar. There’s nothing worse than having to chew through whole peanuts when you don’t want to do that much work for the ice cream. I just wanna enjoy it! Okay…no go away, I want to eat the other 3 bars by myself.
Did we all enjoy them? Yup! Did I get out to Giant Eagle and buy more? Yes I did! I’ve always loved Klondike Bar ice cream flavors and all that they have to offer! Klondike Ice Cream makes everything from their traditional chocolate covered vanilla bars, cookie sandwiches, Heath, Reeses, Oreo, Dark Chocolate, Caramel Pretzel, Double Chocolate, Rocky Road, and so much more! Klondike Bars are available in the six packs, while the Kandy Bars are available in 4 packs.
