Garbage Pound Cake Recipe has everything in it!

Garbage Pound Cake Recipe

I couldn’t think any kind of cool or quirky name for this pound cake. Essentially, I just added some of my favorite toppings to my regular pound cake recipe. I knew that I wanted some earthiness and a little bit a saltiness to it. I rummaged through my cupboards to see what I had, and I was super happy with my discovery. I was even happier with the results. My waist line sure wasn’t too happy about it. Enjoy the recipe!

Prep Time 10 mins Cook Time 50 mins Total Time 1:00
Yields 6

  • 1 8oz cream cheese (room temperature)
  • 6 eggs
  • 3 sticks of butter (room temperature)
  • 3 cups of swans down cake flour
  • 3 cups of sugar
  • 1 tablespoon of vanilla or lemon flavoring
  • 1/2 cup of mini marshmallows (the hot cocoa type, not the soft mini type)
  • 1/2 cup of chopped pretzel pieces
  • 1/2 cup of chopped walnuts
  • 1/2 cup of chocolate chips (semi-sweet)

  1. Pre-heat oven to 325.
  2. Cream sugar, cream cheese, and butter add 1 cup of flour and two eggs cream together and keep adding eggs one at a time.
  3. Slowly add flour until creamed together smoothly then last add flavoring and mix well. Your mixture will be super rich and thick. Don’t worry! This is how it’s supposed to look.
  4. Poor mixture into mini bread molds or your favorite mold of your choice. (be sure that it is buttered and lightly floured to make sure it won’t stick to sides).
  5. Scatter your toppings all around, and give a slight push into the pound cake mixture with your hand. Just enough to push them in slightly to stick to pound cake.
  6. Bake for approximately 50 mins or until a fork or toothpick inserted comes out clean. (Different altitudes will have different cooking times).
  7. Allow time to cool. Since this is very thick, it will need a lot of time to cool. Though, I do like cutting a slice when it’s warm
