Wendy’s Shakes Up the Snack World: New Cookie Dough Frosty Fusion Hits Menus—But There’s a Catch

The “Frosty Golden Age” is officially in full swing. Wendy’s is doubling down on its commitment to dessert innovation with the launch of its newest seasonal sensation: the Cookie Dough Frosty Fusion.

As the fast-food giant ushers in its 2026 spring menu, it is moving away from the simplicity of the classic chocolate and vanilla cups to embrace a more decadent, textured experience. The Cookie Dough Frosty Fusion is the latest evolution in the “Frosty Fusion” line, designed to compete with the likes of the Dairy Queen Blizzard and the McDonald’s McFlurry.

What’s Inside the Cup?

The Cookie Dough Frosty Fusion isn't just a topping sprinkled on top. According to Wendy’s, the new treat starts with their signature Frosty base—available in either chocolate or vanilla—which is then swirled with chunky pieces of cookie dough. To push the decadence over the edge, the entire concoction is drizzled with a rich brownie batter sauce.

This new addition joins an increasingly crowded and creative Frosty lineup that has recently featured fan favorites like the Caramel Crunch and Oreo Brownie Fusions.

How to Get It Before Your Neighbors

While the general public will have to wait until April 27 to order the new treat at the drive-thru, Wendy’s is rewarding its most dedicated fans with an exclusive head start.

Starting today, April 23, through April 26, members of the Wendy’s Loyalty Program can snag the Cookie Dough Frosty Fusion early. However, you can’t just walk up and ask for it; the early-access deal is only available for orders placed through the Wendy’s app. For those who aren't yet members, the chain is encouraging customers to download the app and sign up to skip the four-day wait.

A Full Spring Refresh

The Cookie Dough Frosty isn't the only newcomer to the menu. The April 27 launch marks a total seasonal overhaul for Wendy’s, leaning heavily into refreshing fruit flavors and bold heat:

  • Watermelon Takeover: To wash down those burgers, Wendy’s is introducing a suite of watermelon-infused beverages, including Watermelon Lemonade, Watermelon Sparkling Energy, and a Sprite Watermelon.
  • The Heat Is On: For those who prefer savory over sweet, the “Jalapeño Spring” lineup is arriving simultaneously. This includes a new Jalapeño Ranch Cheeseburger, Jalapeño Bacon Breakfast Potatoes, and even a Jalapeño Breakfast Biscuit for those who like a spicy start to their morning.

The Frosty Strategy

Industry experts note that Wendy’s aggressive expansion of the Frosty brand is a savvy move to increase “snack-time” traffic. By introducing limited-time flavors and “Fusion” textures, the chain is successfully turning a side item into a destination product.

“Wendy's spent decades relying on just two flavors,” says food news analyst Amanda Mactas. “Now, they're treating the Frosty like a canvas for culinary trends. It keeps the brand relevant and gives people a reason to visit outside of standard meal times.”

Whether you’re a cookie dough purist or a brownie batter fanatic, the next few days are your chance to be the first to taste the future of the Frosty. Just make sure your app is updated before you head to the front of the line.
