WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THESE LUCKY CHARMS TREATS
This holiday-themed sweet treat is named after the popular Lucky Charms cereal brand thatโs made up of toasted oat cereal pieces in various shapes and sizes, together with mini marshmallows.
The addition of lucky charms in this recipe gives these treats a burst of color and a touch of fun – perfect for adults and kids to enjoy on St Patrickโs day!

HOW SHOULD I STORE LUCKY CHARMS TREATS?
You can store these lucky charms treats in an airtight container at room temperature for 2-3 days with a sheet of parchment paper to line the bottom of the container, which will help prevent the treats from sticking.
Remember that the longer these lucky charm treats are stored, the more hard and stale they are likely to become.
CAN I REFRIGERATE THESE ST PATRICKโS DAY TREATS?
While you could refrigerate these crunchy cereal treats, this could affect their texture. If you are planning to extend their shelf-life, consider freezing them instead.

CAN I FREEZE LUCKY CHARMS TREATS?
Itโs possible to freeze these lucky charm treats for up to 3 months which is great for leftovers or if you plan to make these in advance.
Once assembled and cut into slices, transfer the individual pieces to a parchment-lined baking tray and flash-freeze them for about 2 hours. This will help harden the treats so that they arenโt as sticky for storage purposes.
Wrap the individual lucky charm treats in wax paper and then store them in a Ziploc bag in the freezer.

WHAT VARIATIONS CAN I MAKE TO THESE LUCKY CHARMS TREATS?
- While Iโve made these marshmallow cereal treats bars specifically with St Patrickโs day in mind, you can easily use this recipe as a foundation for other holidays and special occasions by using different themed cereals and adding color-specific candy to the mix.
- Iโve cut individual pieces into squares, but you could use a cookie cutter and create fun shapes with these treats. There may be some wastage when using cookie cutters.
- Enhance the bright colors in these treats by sprinkling some colorful sanding sugar over the cereal treats while they are still slightly sticky, or drizzle some melted white chocolate with food coloring of your choice added.

TIPS FOR MAKING LUCKY CHARMS TREATS
- Donโt omit the salt in this recipe. It helps to balance the flavors, especially since these treats are quite sweet.
- Iโve found that a 10-ounce bag of mini marshmallows is perfect for these lucky charms treats. Adding more to the mix will make the treats overly gooey and sweet.
- Iโve used a 9×13 pan, but you could use two smaller pans instead. For example, you could divide the mixture between two 8×8 pans. Alternatively, halve this recipe if you only have one smaller pan to work with.
- Donโt use a smaller pan with the aim of making thicker lucky charms treats. From experience, Iโve found thicker cereal treats to be difficult to eat.
- Itโs always a great idea to apply some nonstick cooking spray to your hands to prevent these treats from sticking to your skin, especially if you use your hands to pat the mixture down in the pan.
