Slow Cooker Sesame Chicken

This yummy dinner is the perfect flavor combination of boneless chicken breast and Asian-inspired sauces for a meal you won’t be able to resist.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 pounds boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 1/3 cup sweet onion diced
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup hoisin sauce
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • Sea salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • 1 green onion thinly sliced for garnish
  • Sesame seeds for garnish
  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch

Instructions
 

  1. In a large bowl, combine onion, garlic, honey, soy sauce, hoisin, vegetable oil and red pepper.
  2. Place chicken breasts into slow cooker, and pour sauce mixture over chicken. Cover and cook on low heat for 3 hours and 30 minutes.
  3. In a small bowl, add cornstarch and 1/4 cup of sauce from slow cooker. Mix with whisk until dissolved, and pour back into slow cooker. Gently stir the sauce. Cover and cook for approximately 15-20 minutes.
  4. Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds.
