Slow Cooker Sesame Chicken

This yummy dinner is the perfect flavor combination of boneless chicken breast and Asian-inspired sauces for a meal you won’t be able to resist.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 1/3 cup sweet onion diced
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup hoisin sauce
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • Sea salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • 1 green onion thinly sliced for garnish
  • Sesame seeds for garnish
  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, combine onion, garlic, honey, soy sauce, hoisin, vegetable oil and red pepper.
  • Place chicken breasts into slow cooker, and pour sauce mixture over chicken. Cover and cook on low heat for 3 hours and 30 minutes.
  • In a small bowl, add cornstarch and 1/4 cup of sauce from slow cooker. Mix with whisk until dissolved, and pour back into slow cooker. Gently stir the sauce. Cover and cook for approximately 15-20 minutes.
  • Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds.
