Course: Instant Pot
Cuisine: Entree

Ingredients

  • 4 lb half pork butt roast boneless
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • ½ cup water

Instructions

  1. Remove the pork butt from the netting, if necessary.
  2. Coat pork butt with salt, pepper, cumin, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  3. Turn the Instant Pot to saute mode and add the oil. Once hot, add the pork butt and sear on every side.
  4. Hit cancel, and add the water. Place the lid on the Instant Pot and make sure the knob is set to sealed.
  5. Hit “manual” and set the time to 60 minutes (make sure it’s on high pressure). After the pork has cooked for 60 minutes at high pressure, perform a natural pressure release.
  6. Remove most of the liquid from the Instant Pot and discard. Shred the pork with 2 forks or an electric hand mixer.
  7. Eat as-is or top with BBQ sauce.
