turkey hill vanilla gelato

Turkey Hill Dairy is a well known name in every house hold in the area that I live in. If you didn’t know what Turkey Hill was, then people would look at you a little funny and know that you were definitely not from around the area. When I was approached to do a sponsored post for them, I definitely jumped on chance to work with them! Even though I’m writing this on behalf of Turkey Hill, all opinions are my own and completely honest.

I work from home, and I tend to work a lot. I’m a full-time blogger, VP of Blogger Relations, and a do a lot of Virtual Assistant work. In addition from working from home, I take care of my two pups and my special needs sister. My day is jam packed full of taking care of them, washing dishes, cooking 3 meals a day, making snacks, changing the channels, running down the stairs to my office to squeeze in more work, and then running back up the stairs to take the pups out. I then run back down the stairs to for more work, and then run back up the stairs to change the channel. This my day…every day…non-stop. So, taking some time to unwind during the “end” of my day is really critical. I need my alone time and to be able to decompress. How do I decompress? I don’t have the luxury of being able to eat or snack on a lot of different food because of my food color allergy. However, I can be found indulging myself with some all natural gelato on my front porch while enjoying some much needed quality time. My alone time doesn’t last very long, as my special needs sister is ready to join me on the porch. So, I scoop up her favorite flavor of all natural gelato: peach – mango. Turkey Hill makes a great variety of different flavors! Just as each person has their own personal preference, Turkey Hill has created a variety of different flavors to appeal to everyone. Besides Purely Vanilla and Peach – Mango, they also have: Chocolate Chocolate Chip, Hazelnut, Salted Caramel, Chocolate Peanut Butter, Mint Chocolate Chip, and Coffee Chip.

With my flavor of Turkey Hill All Natural Gelato, I douse it with my home made salted caramel sauce. Angela, she’s fine without any toppings on her. Since I love sharing fun and easy recipes, I’m going to share my salted caramel sauce with you.

Ingredients:

1 packed cup brown sugar
1/2 cup half-and-half
4 tablespoons butter
1/2 teaspoon of sea salt
1 tablespoon vanilla extract

Directions:

Mix the brown sugar, half-and-half, butter and salt in a saucepan over medium-low heat. Cook while whisking gently for 5 to 7 minutes, until it gets thicker. Add the vanilla and cook another minute to thicken further. Turn off the heat, cool slightly and pour the sauce into a jar. Refrigerate until slightly chilled. Your salted caramel sauce is ready to be enjoyed on your favorite flavor of Turkey Hill’s All natural Gelato. Just like my recipe, Turkey Hill’s All Natural Gelato is made with simple ingredients. There’s nothing complex or any type of unnatural products that you can’t pronounce in it.

As you can see in the photo, I don’t care about the mess on the bowl and spoon….I just want that delicious salted caramel sauce on top of my Turkey Hill Purely Vanilla All Natural Gelato! In case you didn’t know, there’s a difference between ice cream and gelato. Gelato is more dense and has less air in it, whereas ice cream has more air injected in it. Gelato is more dense, has a richer texture, and is made with super simple ingredients like: milk, cream, sugar and vanilla. These are the type of ingredients that you can trust. All Natural Gelato is available wherever Turkey Hill products are sold.
