Swaps

Preparations
Gather your ingredients and wash and pat dry the Cod fillets.
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Season the Cod fillets with sea salt and ground black pepper.
Step 2
Dredge the fish in flour and gently shake off any excess.
Step 3
Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat and fry the fish fillets on both sides until golden brown (about 2 minutes per side). Remove the fried fillets and place them on a plate.
Step 4
Heat the butter in the same pan. Add the onion and garlic and saute for about 1 minute while stirring. Add the lemon juice and capers.
Step 5
Add the fish fillets back into the frying pan with the sauce along with lemon slices. Bring the pan to a simmer and allow the fish to warm through. Remove the fish and serve over rice with parsley as garnish.
💭 COOKING TIPS
Use a large frying pan to avoid overcrowding the fish fillets which can result in steaming. You may need to fry two fillets at a time.
Make sure that the oil is heated before adding the fillets to the pan to avoid the flour coating turning soggy.
A non-stick frying pan can be used to help prevent the flour-coated lemon fish from sticking to the pan and crumbling into broken pieces.
