🍽 KEY INGREDIENTS

Ingredients for Tilapia Piccata on a marble countertop.

Cod fish fillet – Wash and pat dry the lemon fish before dredging.

Flour – I use all-purpose flour to dredge the fish. You can use gluten-free flour instead, if needed.

Butter lemon sauce – This is made with unsalted butter, sauteed onion and garlic, lemon juice, and capers.

Swaps

Flour – Use gluten-free flour instead of all-purpose flour.

Seasoning – I’ve used sea salt and ground black pepper to season the Cod fish. You can easily adapt the choice of seasoning to suit your preferences.

💭 COOKING TIPS

Use a large frying pan to avoid overcrowding the fish fillets which can result in steaming. You may need to fry two fillets at a time.

Make sure that the oil is heated before adding the fillets to the pan to avoid the flour coating turning soggy.

A non-stick frying pan can be used to help prevent the flour-coated lemon fish from sticking to the pan and crumbling into broken pieces.
