WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT THESE AIR FRYER PARMESAN POTATOES
These air fryer parmesan potatoes are the best tasting, with a crispy texture when served immediately after cooking.
While you can store and reheat leftover parmesan potatoes, you can also use any leftovers in casseroles or as a filling in a breakfast omelet, especially if you don’t like the texture of leftover potatoes.
These parmesan potatoes are perfect for special occasions, holidays, breakfast, brunch, or a side dish for your midweek family dinner.
HOW SHOULD I STORE AIR FRYER PARMESAN POTATOES?
While these air fryer parmesan potatoes are best enjoyed immediately after cooking, you can keep them warm in a preheated oven at a low temperature (about 200F) before serving, but only for 10-15 minutes at most. Storing these potatoes for any longer than this in the oven could turn them soggy.
Leftover air fryer parmesan potatoes can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for 4 days.
CAN I FREEZE THESE PARMESAN POTATOES?
Yes, you can. Flash freeze the cooked potatoes on a cookie sheet, and once hardened, transfer them to an airtight container or Ziploc bag for storing in the freezer for 1 month.
Thaw the frozen potatoes in the fridge and then reheat them in a preheated oven or the air fryer until heated through.
WHICH POTATOES ARE BEST FOR THIS DISH?
Baby Yukon Gold or baby red potatoes are great for size, with a fluffy center and crispy exterior.
WHAT VARIATIONS CAN I MAKE TO THIS RECIPE?
- Change the seasoning and spices used to flavor these potatoes by using smoked paprika, cumin, or Cajun seasoning.
- Avocado oil or another clear oil can be used in this recipe.
- Garnish these potatoes with chopped basil and oregano.
- Granada Padano or Romano cheese are great alternatives to parmesan cheese.
- Oven-bake these parmesan potatoes at 400F for 20-25 minutes.
- Russet potatoes cut into uniform-sized wedges can be used instead of baby potatoes.
- I haven’t peeled the potatoes, but you can if you prefer. From experience, the skin adds to the delicious crispy exterior.
TIPS FOR MAKING AIR FRYER PARMESAN POTATOES
- Cut the potatoes into similar sizes so that they cook evenly. Larger-sized potato halves may not cook through properly.
- Arrange the potatoes in a single layer in the air fryer basket, and don’t overcrowd the basket, or the potatoes won’t get crispy.
- Be generous with the parmesan cheese for extra flavor. You could even sprinkle extra parmesan cheese over the cooked potatoes before serving.
- Always grate the cheese from a fresh block of parmesan for the best flavor and texture. No worries, I won’t stick my nose up to you if you pull that trusted bottle from the fridge.
- Tossing these potatoes halfway through the cooking time ensures an even cook and crispy exterior on all sides.
