WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF COOKING CAULIFLOWER STEAKS IN THE AIR FRYER?
Cooking cauliflower steaks in an air fryer prevents the cauliflower from drying out while cooking the cauliflower evenly. The air fryer also adds a delicious crispy exterior on all sides of the steak due to the air circulation in the basket.
WHAT VARIATIONS CAN I MAKE TO THIS RECIPE?
- Avocado oil can be used instead of olive oil.
- Change the flavor of your cauliflower steak by using different seasonings, such as Cajun seasoning, taco seasoning, or fajita seasoning.
- You can use a medium or large cauliflower head for this recipe, depending on how big you want the steak and what is available.
- Cook these cauliflower steaks in the oven at 400F for 20-30 minutes or until tender inside and crispy outside.
- Add 1-2 tablespoons of grated parmesan cheese to the seasoning mixture for a delicious cheesy flavor.
- Add a kick of heat to these cauliflower steaks by using cayenne pepper, red chili powder, or smoked paprika.
TIPS FOR MAKING AIR FRYER CAULIFLOWER STEAK
- Flipping the cauliflower steaks halfway through the cooking time will ensure an even cook on all sides and a crispy exterior.
- Don’t overcrowd the air fryer basket. This will only steam the cauliflower steaks, and they won’t get that delicious crispy exterior. Leave enough space around the single cauliflower steaks to ensure sufficient air circulation in the air fryer.
- Be gentle handling the cauliflower steaks when flipping them, as they are quite fragile and could fall apart.
